It is so important to us that children at Dawley C of E Primary Academy are safe at school (and feel safe too).
We have a strong culture of reporting concerns and problems, so children, staff, parents and visitors are encouraged to tell someone if they think something is wrong.
Our designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) are: Mr Andrews, Mrs Houlston, Mrs Beechey, Mrs Astill-Evans, Miss Woodhouse and Mr Fallon.
We have worked hard to ensure there is a strong culture of well-being and safety which helps children to be aware of potential danger and teaches them about risks and behaviours and actions that can help to keep themselves safe.
Our well-developed Personal, Social and Health Education curriculum (including Relationships and Sex Education and Online Safety) permeates throughout school and children testify to this.
We have regular site checks, frequent evacuation/lockdown drills and we ensure all our risk assessments and relevant staff qualifications are up to date.
Our computer network is very secure, with appropriate protection at Wide-Area-Network level, as well as Local-Area-Network monitoring by Senso, which reports directly to the Principal and Designated Safeguarding Leads

What is CPOMS?
CPOMS is the market leading software application for monitoring child protection, safeguarding and a whole range of pastoral and welfare issues. Working alongside a school’s existing safeguarding processes, CPOMS is an intuitive system to help with the management and recording of child protection, behavioural issues, bullying, special educational needs, domestic issues and much much more. Using CPOMS, schools can ensure that students are safe and fully supported, whilst school staff can focus on teaching and providing support, instead of administration.
Every member of staff across school has an obligation to report any concerns which they may have. CPOMS allows them to record information in a central repository and have relevant people alerted immediately. Senior leaders are able to build a chronology around a student and can produce reports on vulnerable pupil groups for Case Conference Meetings, Governors and Ofsted at the touch of a button.
